Writer / Producer Statement

I grew up with the story of Jane and Wolfgang, but I did not understand its meaning until college. On a trip to Berlin with my dad, the city brought their story to life, not just visually but emotionally. Standing at the remnants of the Wall, I realized this was not only my family’s history. It was a story that belonged to the world.

As a student of history, I have come to see how often human connection is tested by walls, both physical and emotional. This story reminds me that even in divided times, compassion and courage can still bridge impossible gaps.

Telling this story is my way of honoring that truth. It is a reminder that hope is powerful and that small acts of bravery can ripple outward in ways we may never see.

As written on the Berlin Wall, “Many small people, who in many small places do many small things, can alter the face of the world.” That spirit drives me to make this film and to invite others to join in sharing it.

OUR TEAM

Mary Elizabeth MORSE Davis | Writer & EP

A visual storyteller and creative strategist, Mary Elizabeth’s career bridges the worlds of design, branding, empathy, and cinematic narrative. Based in Tennessee, she has built a reputation as a trusted art director and narrative designer for Fortune 500 clients including John Deere, Hershey, and Sysco, translating corporate purpose into human stories through film, design, and immersive experience.

Her creative practice lives at the intersection of emotion and strategy, understanding how stories move people to act. That same instinct guides her debut feature as a writer and executive producer, Eyes on Me, a U.S.–German co-production inspired by her father’s role in a true 1969 Berlin Wall escape.

What began as a college documentary about her father evolved into a decade-long pursuit, blending her design eye with a deep commitment to storytelling to bring a historical true story to life on screen.

Mary Elizabeth brings the discipline of brand leadership to independent cinema, aligning vision, creativity, and purpose. Her work centers on human courage, social impact, and the belief that stories, when told truthfully and beautifully, can move both hearts and history.
